LEWA (Leadership Excellence for Women Awards)

The Leadership Excellence for Women Awards (LEWA) is an award program dedicated to recognizing excellence for women in the Oil & Gas Industry.

LEWA is a celebration of innovation, leadership, achievement and talent as demonstrated by women in the academic and business sectors of the industry. One of the awards honours eminent engineers for career accomplishments to the institutes. And the other set of awards is to honour individuals for excellence in their technical fields.

The judges are chosen from the committees and partners of MEPEC.

AWARD CATEGORIES

One winner of the MEPEC Leadership Excellence for Women Awards will be chosen for each of the following 3 categories:

WOMAN OF ACHIEVEMENT

Works in a relevant industry in a leading role. Employed for a minimum of ten years in a Middle East organization, or the Middle East branch of an organization, in either private or public sector.

RISING STAR

An up-coming female executive who works in a relevant industry. Employed for a minimum of five years in a Middle East organization, or the Middle East branch of an organization, in either private or public sector.

MENTORSHIP AWARD

A woman who serves as an example of hard work and effective mentoring who demonstrates a powerful commitment to advising other women and helping them advance. This category is limited to women in Academic Institutions only.

AWARD CRITERIA

CRITERIA FOR INDUSTRY AWARDS

  • Works in relevant industry (oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial support, engineering, construction etc)
  • Works in a Middle East organization, or an Middle East branch of an organization, both private and public sectors
  • Must be an Engineering Graduate
  • Must have worked a minimum of 5 years in the Industry
  • All nationalities are welcome to submit their application

CRITERIA FOR ACADEMIA AWARDS

  • Works in relevant University (oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial support, engineering, construction etc.)
  • Works in a Middle East University, or an ME branch of an international University, both private and public sectors
  • Represents her University locally and internationally
  • Must be an Engineering Graduate
  • Must have worked a minimum of 5 years in the Industry
  • All nationalities are welcome to submit their application
