Conference Workshops by AIChE Academy
There will be 2 conference workshops at MEPEC 2017, organized by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). Each workshop will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre on Tuesday (10 October, 2017) from 09.00 until 17.00 and again on Wednesday (11 October, 2017). The workshops will cover the following subjects:

Timings: 9:00 to 17:00
Course Title: The Keys to Managing a Capital Project Successfully
Learn the keys to managing capital projects of any size successfully. Special emphasis will be placed on detail planning for a capital project, monitoring and controlling a capital project and using quantitative risk analysis as the basis of your cost and schedule contingency. In this session, you will be introduced to the basics of these three areas so that you can be effective and efficient. Useful templates will be provided that can be scaled for your personal use. These templates can be used regardless of the size or complexity of the projects you are managing.
Course Title: Spreadsheet Problem-Solving for Chemical Engineers
Spreadsheets are a powerful problem-solving tool for chemical engineers. But to take full advantage of all they can do, you need a strong foundation in common problem-solving spreadsheet techniques. Join chemical engineer and Excel expert David Clough and pick up dozens of tips and techniques unknown to many engineers that will help you solve chemical engineering problems faster and more accurately. In one day, learn how to work with tables of data and calculate flow sheets and material balances. Learn how to solve algebraic and differential equations as well as analyze data using methods of applied statistics. You’ll also learn how to optimize flowsheet and equipment design, prepare spreadsheets for others to use, and much more.
In order to benefit from this course, please note that you will need to carry your own laptop with Microsoft Excel 2010 or 2013 already installed.
