Creating Value Through Operational Excellence

Tasnee Excellence Program (TEP) was launched in 2015 based on four main value pillars, one of which was “streamlining operations”. Under the TEP umbrella, a Manufacturing Transformation Program (MTP) was implemented to streamline operations and has contributed to 28% of the overall TEP realized value of SAR Billion 1.8. Tasnee MTP was designed to cover all assets at its Petrochemicals Complex in Al Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia over a period of two years. The MTP implementation was facilitated by an experienced lean transformation consultant and performed by shop floor employees with the involvement of local manufacturing excellence change agents. Tasnee MTP benefits along with the implementation model and governance tools to be presented as a technical topic of MEPEC 2019 under the digital transformation operational excellence topic. Because of the proven value of such excellence program and commitment to continuous improvement, Tasnee has established a permanent Operational Excellence Department dedicated to facilitating, tracking and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives.

Modern Refinery Config for R&P Integration

The pursuit of maximum value uplift from crude oil continues to drive greater integration between refining and petrochemical assets. As firms look to become more efficient, demand for fuels is projected to decline across time, the demand for petrochemicals is forecasted to grow. This projected shift, has also driven a lot of technology innovations that further improve the economic prize for getting it right. The Refinery of the Future will be heralded by the flexibility to meet rapidly changing market needs and the integration of petrochemicals to unlock additional value. Further benefit is realized through connected technology to optimize performance every day. Learn a strategic, step-wise method to invest in new process technology that targets the lowest value stream for conversion; e.g: bottom of the barrel conversion through hydrogen addition rather than carbon rejection. In this presentation, we will review global refining and petrochemical trends, highlight recent advances in crude to chemicals and provide some integration strategies that help enable refiners to improve their economics in the fuels markets, or further improve through diversification into petrochemicals.
